Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Issue Checker for Jira ("we", "our", or "the App") uses and protects information when you use it in Jira Cloud. Issue Checker is a separate app from Project Commander, made by the same person; this policy covers Issue Checker only.

1. Information the App reads

Issue Checker reads one Jira project at a time, with your own Jira permissions, so it never sees an issue you could not open yourself. It reads:

• Projects: the key and name of each project you can see, to fill the Project dropdown.
• Issue fields: key, summary, status, issue type, priority, assignee and reporter (display names), created and updated dates, start and due dates, story points, original and remaining estimates, time logged, resolution and resolution date, sprint, parent, sub-tasks, labels, fix versions and issue links (such as blocks and is blocked by).
• Sprints: the name of the sprint each issue is in and whether that sprint has closed.
• Issue history: for issues that are not finished, the history of which sprints they were in, to find work carried over more than once. It is read only while that check is switched on.
• Your own checks: the Jira filter you write for a check of your own, which Jira runs to count the issues that match it.

It does not read issue descriptions, comments or attachments.

2. How the App uses it

Only to show you what is wrong with the project's issues: the headline, each check's count and the issues behind it, and what is new or fixed since you last looked. Nothing is used for any other purpose.

3. What the App keeps

Issue Checker keeps a small amount of information in Atlassian Forge storage, inside your own Atlassian site. None of it is sent to us or anywhere else. It keeps:

• Your settings, per person and per project: which checks run, their order, how the list is sorted, whether only found issues are shown, which sprints and whether the backlog are included, what each column means, and the name and Jira filter of any check you wrote.
• What you dismissed, per person and per project: which issue and which check, so a dismissed finding stays off the list until you restore it.
• What the checks found last time, per person and per project: the issue keys and the time, so the App can say what is new or fixed since you last looked.
• The project you last chose on each dashboard gadget, per person.
• The status names in each project, taken from its issues when the checks run, so the settings can offer them for you to say what each column means. These are shared by everyone using the App on that project.

Your settings, dismissed findings and choices are yours alone: nobody else using the App sees or changes them.

Data retention

What the App keeps stays until you change it in the App or the App is uninstalled. Restoring a dismissed finding removes it from what is kept. Uninstalling the App removes everything it kept in Forge storage. Your Jira data is not affected.

4. Nothing leaves Atlassian

Issue Checker has no AI features and no analytics of its own, and it sends nothing outside Atlassian. Its permission list, which Jira shows before you install, names no address outside Atlassian, so the App cannot send your data anywhere else.

It also has no permission to change anything in Jira. It reads; you fix what it finds in Jira yourself.

5. Data sharing

We do not share, sell or transfer your data to anyone. We never receive it.

6. Data security

• The App runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform.
• It reads Jira with your own Jira permissions.
• It has no permission to write to Jira and none to reach any address outside Atlassian.
• No Jira data is sent to our servers.

7. Your rights

• Access: your settings are shown behind the gear on the dashboard gadget and the app's own page, and your dismissed findings in the Dismissed list.
• Correction: change your settings or restore a dismissed finding at any time.
• Deletion: uninstalling the App removes everything it kept.
• Portability: your Jira data stays in Jira and can be exported with Jira's own exports.

8. Atlassian Marketplace

Issue Checker is distributed through the Atlassian Marketplace. Atlassian may collect information about your use of the Marketplace and apps. See Atlassian's Privacy Policy for details.

9. Children's privacy

Issue Checker is a business tool and is not intended for use by children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will announce significant changes on the Atlassian Marketplace listing or in the App. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
